Pricing

Mike’s hourly rate is $193.99 per hour.

Capacity Building Sessions

Initial Package: 90 minutes

  • 30 minute parent/carer information gathering session/phone call

  • 60 minute initial face to face sessions

Ongoing Sessions: 60 minutes

  • 50 minute session

  • 10 minute note taking

Frequency of therapy is dependent on needs of each participant.

Progress Report

  • 2 hours of report writing

For existing clients only. This is used when going for NDIS plan reviews.

Assistive Technology

  • Includes assessment, recommendations, sourcing equipment, letter of recommendation, trials and evidence & advice reports

Costs depend on the complexity of the Assistive Technology item required (low risk/ low cost, medium risk, complex and high risk) and the number of items needed.

Travel Costs

The pricing listed is not inclusive of travel.

Travel is charged at the same hourly rate of therapy (i.e. $193.99/hr) plus $0.99 per km.

Functional Capacity Assessment

  • 3 hour assessment (typically split over two sessions)

  • 10 hours of report writing

Includes a comprehensive interview, functional assessment, observation assessment, 2-3 standardised assessments and an extensive report.

Non-Face to Face Supports

Non-face to face supports that help achieve a participant’s goals will also be billed separately. Non-face to face supports include, but are not limited to:

  • Time spent corresponding about the client with parents, carers, school, and other professionals (e.g. emails, phone calls, reports, letter and videocalls)

  • Resource development that is specific for achieving a participant’s gaols (e.g. visual schedules, home programs and activities)

  • Scoring, analysing and interpreting standardised and clinical assessment data

  • Research completed that is directly related to the participant’s needs and the attainment of their goals (e.g. suitable assistive technology)

Non-face to face supports play a crucial role in helping participants achieve their goals because of their tailored assistance. Non-face to face supports can be customised to meet individual needs, providing targeted guidance and resources.

By integrating non-face to face supports, participants can receive comprehensive assistance that compliments face-to face interactions, ultimately enhancing a participant’s ability to achieve their goals.

Non-face to face supports are charged at the same hourly rate as face to face support ($193.99/hr).

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation policy at Mike the OT has been established to ensure all participants have equal opportunity to engage in services.

Mike the OT requests that you please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a prearranged session. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a full session fee.

If you or the participant does not show up or is not at the agreed-upon location for the session 30 minutes after the start time, you will be charged the full session fee in addition to the travel costs.

The loss from cancelled Occupational Therapy sessions can include the following:

  • Cancelled appointments can significantly disrupt and impact a participant’s support plan and therapeutic progress

  • Frequent cancellations may lead to a lower commitment toward support plans, which can adversely affect therapeutic outcomes

  • Participants who have been waiting to receive services miss out

Telehealth appointments are offered when a participant cannot attend their session.

Mike the OT reserves the right to assess and determine when the cancellation fees may apply.
